About the image
It was 5AM in the Serengeti in Tanzania. After a downpour of rain lasting all night, the great plains had become rich and green. Just after leaving the hotel on an early morning game drive, a pride of about 15 lions were spotted feasting on a recently caught zebra. Alex spent the next 3 hours photographing the pride as they divided up the catch. This moment was taken as a massive water buffalo passed very close by, all the lions quickly became very alert.
